JT and Chandra are one of those couples that give you hope for the future of all couples everywhere. They are sickeningly adorable, so obviously in love, and the perfect amount of weird. It was a complete blast photographing them! And not just because I’m partial to blue hair… This portrait session was an inside-outside home session just outside of Boston. We started inside their living room, and then moved outside to the backyard. These are one of my favourite kinds of portraits. Being at home sets my couples at complete ease. And then moving outside lets us play a little more. I also get to take advantage of the natural light in two different ways, which I love!

Right before we started with this session, JT and Chandra told me that they had started trying for a baby. And shortly after I sent them the photos, they announced that Chandra was pregnant! Indy (short for Independence with, and I quote, “Female pronouns to start (subject to change at any time)”) is now three months old. We’re calling this the first family portrait, and I CAN’T WAIT to do the second with Indy, mom, and pa. Given the number of “dad jokes” JT cracked during this session, I’m sure his new “dad” title will produce even more, so it’s sure to be a hoot.
